Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on reports that Malala Yousafzai attackers have been released from prison.
“I am appalled by reports that eight of the 10 militants convicted in the 2012 attack against Malala Yousafzai have been secretly released from prison. For all Pakistani girls who dream of pursuing an education, this sends the chilling message that their government will not protect them.".
