Washington, D.C. - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) released the following statement in response to reports that Russian democracy activist Vladimir Kara-Murza has fallen into a coma caused by poisoning.
“I’ve had the privilege of meeting with Vladimir several times. Vladimir Kara-Murza is a Russian patriot, who has made a real difference in helping expose corruption and human rights abuses in Putin’s Russia. Few would have had the courage to return home, as Vladimir Kara-Murza did, after first becoming deathly ill in 2015. He is one of the bravest people I know.".
