Washington, D.C. - Congressman Michael McCaul, Republican Leader on the House ForeignAffairs Committee, released the following statement after his colleagues selected him to serve as Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee for the 117th Congress.

“I am honored to continue serving as the Republican Leader on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. I am proud of what Republican Members on the committee have accomplished in the 116th Congress to advance our foreign policy agenda, especially our work to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for their COVID-19 coverup and other malign behavior. Our nation is currently facing unprecedented challenges and global threats, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to protect Americans and advance our interests on the world stage.".
