Washington, DC - House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul and Chairman Gregory W. Meeks released the following statement in response to the United Nations Security Council vote to renew humanitarian access to the Syrian people.

“We are pleased that the UN Security Council approved a 12 month renewal of the Bab Al Hawa humanitarian crossing in Syria. Consistent, reliable humanitarian access is vital to addressing the ongoing crisis in Syria. It is no exaggeration to say that the vote today saved lives.".
