MAJOR DEFENSE CONTRACTOR URGES ACTION TO PROTECT CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE FROM CYBER THREATS

The following press release was published by the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on March 8, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

In a letter to the co-sponsors of the Act - Senators Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., Susan Collins, R-Maine, Jay Rockefeller, D-West Va., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. -- the giant federal contractor also praised the “open dialogue" that has surrounded drafting of their bill.

“Northrop Grumman applauds Congress’ commitment to strengthening our nation’s cybersecurity posture," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Wes Bush wrote. “Northrop Grumman supports the enactment of cybersecurity legislation that … [s]trengthens critical infrastructure protection and facilitates the sharing of threat information across the public and private sectors."

The letter can be read in full here.
