Committee on Foreign Relations: Committee concluded a hearing to examine the nominations of Reuben E. Brigety II, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa, Michael Battle, of Georgia, to be Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania, who was introduced by Senators Portman and Ossoff, Margaret C. Whitman, of Colorado, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya, who was introduced by Senator Romney, Michael C. Gonzales, of California, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Zambia, John T. Godfrey, of California, to be Ambassador to the Republic of the Sudan, and Michael J. Adler, of Maryland, to be Ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan, all of the Department of State, after the nominees testified and answered questions in their own behalf.

INTELLIGENCE

Select Committee on Intelligence: Committee met in closed session to receive a briefing on certain intelligence matters from officials of the intelligence community.
