Senior Bureau Official Nancy Izzo Jackson Travels to Amman, Jordan

Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) Nancy Izzo Jackson will travel to Amman, Jordan, from November 27 to Dec. 2, 2021, as Head of Delegation to the United Nations Relief Works Agency’s (UNRWA) Advisory Committee (AdCom). SBO Jackson will reaffirm our enduring and strategic partnership with Jordan and our support for refugees and vulnerable Jordanian host communities.

In addition to attending AdCom, while in Amman SBO Jackson will participate in the inauguration of UNRWA’s Zohour School, a purpose-built educational facility, constructed with U.S. government assistance and in-kind support from the Jordanian government. She will also meet with Syrian refugees and other beneficiaries of PRM-funded programs that provide life-saving assistance to refugees and vulnerable host communities in Jordan, and that promote resiliency and self-reliance.

SBO Jackson will also meet with Jordanian government officials, the diplomatic community, and international and non-governmental organization officials to discuss the refugee response in Jordan and underscore the U. S. commitment to supporting refugees and the communities that host them.
