Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site has an opening for a permanent park guide. If you are interested in working for the National Park Service, helping the public, doing historic demonstrations, interpreting, and protecting America’s natural resources, this may be the opportunity for you. Pay starts at $36,118.00 and ranges up to $47,781.00 / per year.
Work is performed predominantly outdoors at the fort with exposure to extreme temperatures, rain, snow, and or wind. This is an active position, requiring lots of walking, bending, and sometimes lifting heavy objects. The applicant must be comfortable working around farm animals and livestock.
Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site features a reconstructed 1840s adobe fur trading post on the mountain branch of the Santa Fe Trail, where traders, trappers, travelers, and tribes came together for trade.
