BLM to host public meetings and seek public comment on environmental impacts of the SunZia Southwest Transmission Project

The Bureau of Land Management has opened a 90-day public comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed SunZia Southwest Transmission Project. The comment period began on April 29, 2022, and ends on Aug. 1, 2022. The BLM has also scheduled three virtual public meetings.

“We are pleased to give the public an opportunity to provide their input on this project and attend the virtual public meetings to learn about the project,” said BLM New Mexico State Director Melanie Barnes.

The virtual public meetings are scheduled to occur on the dates and times below:

  • Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. MDT
