Update to Administrator’s Fact Book Released

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) posted an update to the Administrator’s Fact Book today on the FAA News page.

The Fact Book provides statistics, data and other information about aviation safety and the FAA’s management of the nation’s airspace system. Content covers the agency’s air traffic, commercial space transportation, aircraft, airspace modernization and unmanned aircraft systems mission, and includes such data as:

* Number of U.S. airports (19,787)

* Active pilots (650,719)

* Number of drones registered (1,726,726)

* Number of licensed commercial space operations (Includes 32 launches and reentries in Calendar Year 2020)

* Data about the FAA’s workforce, budget, industry forecasts and recently published rulemaking documents.
