Indian Arts Festival scheduled for August 6-7, 2022

Saturday August 6 & 7, 2022 come join Fort Union as we celebrate our affiliated tribes through traditional Ameriican Indian music, dancing, and culture. This free event will showcase presentations and demonstrations each day from 10:00am – 4:00pm CDT.

Saturday August 6

10:00 am Buffalo hide talk – Billy Maxwell

11:00 am Shoshone program – Laine Thom

11:30 am Flint Knapping – Willie Lamere

12:00 pm Native film work – Justin Deegan

1:00 pm Traditional Native American singing and Dance presentation – Cowessess First Nation Cree group out of Saskatchewan

3:00 pm Moon calendar presentation - Dakota Good House

4:00 pm Cannon Firing demonstration – staff

Sunday August 7

Ongoing presentations and demonstrations at tables and on site: Traditional Beadwork, quillwork, ledger art, children’s games, flint knapping, storytelling.
