St. Francis Man Pleads Guilty To Simple Possession Of A Controlled Substance

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Antoine Kills In Water, age 30, of St. Francis, South Dakota, appeared before United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange on Jan. 10, 2013, and pled guilty to Simple Possession of a Controlled Substance. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 1 year in custody, a $100,000 fine, or both; 1 year of supervised release; and a $25 special assessment.

The conviction stems from an incident that took place between April 29, 2011, and May 11, 2011, when Kills In Water used and possessed methamphetamine and marijuana.

The investigation was conducted by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force and Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tim Maher.

Kills In Water was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
