Lincoln Woman Sentenced in Drug Conspiracy

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that on March 18, 2013, United States District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Teresa Liggins, 51, of Lincoln, Nebraska, to 21 years and 10 months in prison for her conviction for conspiracy to district over 280 grams of crack cocaine.

Liggins was indicted in May of 2012 and pled guilty on Dec. 21, 2012. Liggins was involved in distributing small quantities of crack cocaine in the Lincoln area. She was previously sentenced, and is currently serving a sentence of 3 to 6 years, for attempted delivery of a controlled substance from the Lancaster County District Court. Judge Gerrard ordered that her federal sentence be served concurrently with the state sentence. Liggins was charged with conspiring with Diwancha Brown, who has also pled guilty and is awaiting sentencing.

This case was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force.
