Dresher Man Indicted On Child Porn Charges

Gary Kent, of Dresher, Pennsylvania, was charged today by Indictment, with two counts of distribution of child pornography, and two counts of possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment alleges that on or about Sept. 13, 2012 and on or about Jan. 27, 2013, Kent distributed images of child pornography, and on or about Nov. 30, 2012 and on or about February 5, 2013, Kent possessed images of child pornography.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 60 years in prison.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. The case was investigated by Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE") and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Karen A. Fox.
