A federal criminal complaint was unsealed today that charges 23-year-old U.S. Army soldier Tyler Glen Patrick with possession and transportation of stolen explosive material announced United States Attorney Robert Pitman and FBI Special Agent in Charge Armando Fernandez.
According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 17, 2013, federal authorities arrested Patrick in Copperas Cove, TX, after he attempted to sell a one-and-a-quarter-pound block of C-4 explosive which he previously stole following a field exercise on Fort Hood, TX.
Patrick, who remains in federal custody, faces up to ten years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine upon conviction.
This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation together with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division. Assistant United States Attorney Greg Gloff is prosecuting this case on behalf of the Government.
