COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA- On Jan. 24, 2014, Michael E. Hannum, a 53 year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska was sentenced by United States District Court Senior Judge Robert Pratt to 30 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for escape, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. On Nov. 1, 2013, the defendant pled guilty to escaping on Aug. 2, 2013, from CH Inc. the residential re-entry center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. On August 4, 2013, the defendant was arrested by officers with the Council Bluffs Police.
The investigation was conducted by the Council Bluffs, Iowa, Police Department and the United States Marshal Service, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
