CHARLESTON, W. Va. -- Mark Johnson, Jr., 23, pleaded guilty today in federal court to being a felon in possession of a firearm in Charleston, WV, where he resides. In November 2013, Johnson was involved in an altercation outside the Town Center Mall and he brandished a firearm during that altercation. Johnson has two prior felony convictions - both involving firearms. Johnson faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment when he is sentenced on Aug. 20, 2014.
This case was investigated by the Charleston Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston conducted today’s guilty plea hearing.
