Huntington, W.Va. - Alton Tribble, 37, of Detroit, Michigan was sentenced in federal court in Huntington today to five years and three months’ in federal prison. Tribble previously pled guilty in April of 2014 to possession with intent to distribute heroin. On Dec. 26, 2013, members of the Huntington Police Department searched a residence at 917 21st Street in Huntington used by Tribble to store heroin he intended to sell in the Huntington area. Police seized heroin, a.32 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and a set of digital scales.
This case is being prosecuted as part of an ongoing effort led by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia to combat the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs and heroin. The U.S. Attorney’s Office, joined by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, is committed to aggressively pursuing and shutting down illegal pill trafficking, eliminating open air drug markets, and curtailing the spread of opiate painkillers and heroin in communities across the Southern District.
