U.S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming Christopher A. Crofts announced that on Nov. 20, 2014, Jameson Kaulaity, a 28-year-old Northern Arapaho Tribal member, was sentenced by United States District Judge Scott W. Skavdahl to 15 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 3 years supervised release, and a $100 special assessment. Mr. Kaulaity will be required to surrender to the United States Bureau of Prisons to begin serving his sentence on January 5, 2015. He previously pled guilty to one count of assault of a spouse by strangling in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 113(a)(8) and 1153. The charge against Mr. Kaulaity stemmed from an incident that occurred on Jan. 29, 2014 on the Wind River Indian Reservation. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
