First Circuit Court Of Appeals Denies Effort By Jose Santiago To Vacate Guilty Plea

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The an effort by Jose Alibal Santiago to withdraw his guilty plea in connection with the 2010 robbery and murder of a Woonsocket gas station manager.

On September 5, 2013, Jose Santiago pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery affecting commerce; robbery affecting commerce; and possessing, using, carrying, and discharging a gun in relation to a crime of violence with death resulting. On Feb. 13, 2014, Santiago was sentenced to serve 40 years in federal prison.
