TRENTON, N.J. - A former Princeton, New Jersey, youth soccer coach was sentenced today to 36 months in prison for possessing images of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.
Jorge A. Roman, 50, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano to an information charging him with one count of possession of child pornography. Judge Pisano imposed the sentence today in Trenton federal court.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
On May 16, 2013, Roman possessed 600 or more images of child sexual abuse on various DVDs, computers or other digital media at his residence in Princeton. Some of the images in Roman’s possession were images of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
In addition to the prison term, Judge Pisano sentenced Roman to serve five years of supervised release.
U.S. Attorney Fishman credited postal inspectors of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Postal Inspector in Charge Maria L. Kelokates, with the investigation leading to today’s sentencing.
