Hammond, Indiana - The United States Attorney’s Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Hammond, Indiana, returned the following indictment on March 19, 2015.
Ronnie Cosby, 39, of Hammond, Indiana, is charged with transporting a 15-year old minor on or about Feb. 12, 2015, from Indiana to Illinois, with the intent that the minor engage in prostitution. The defendant is in custody and appeared today in federal court for his arraignment.
This indictment was the result of an ongoing investigation by Homeland Security Investigations. The United States Attorney’s Office emphasized that an Indictment is merely an allegation and not proof of guilt. All persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of the federal sentencing statutes and federal sentencing guidelines.
