TULSA, Okla.-Juan Pablo Charre, 35, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Gregory K. Frizzell on Wednesday to serve 84 months in federal prison for possessing over 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, announced United States Attorney Danny C. Williams Sr.
Following a traffic stop on Oct. 18, 2014, Tulsa Police Department officers discovered approximately four pounds of methamphetamine concealed in a compartment of Charre’s vehicle. Charre was travelling from Texas to Tulsa. The drugs had a value of at least $46,000. Charre was charged on November 4, 2014, and pleaded guilty on January 5, 2015.
The superseding indictment also charged Charre’s nephew, Alejandro Cabrera Charre, 23, with conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. On Jan. 28, 2015, following a three-day trial, a federal jury found Alejandro Charre guilty of conspiring with Juan Charre to bring the methamphetamine from Texas to Tulsa. Sentencing for Alejandro Charre is scheduled for May 6, 2015.
This case was investigated by the Tulsa Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Neal C. Hong and Timothy L. Faerber.
