Rochester Man Sentenced For Possession Of Counterfit Money

Assistant U.S. Melissa M. Marangola, who handled the case, stated that on March 1, 2015, law enforcement officers responded to 453 Hollenbeck Street in Rochester to investigate a possible burglary in progress. As officers approached the defendant, they learned he had an outstanding warrant on an unrelated matter. Williams was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail. While there, officers removed $1,140.00 in counterfeit United States currency the defendant. The money was then examined by Secret Service agents who determined it was counterfeit.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of the Secret Service, under the direction of C. Todd Laster.
