FRESNO, Calif. - On Wednesday, after a two-day trial, a jury found Humberto Bucio Delgado, 41, of Mexico, guilty of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, Acting United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.
According to court documents, on Sept. 30, 2014, Delgado was arrested at a methamphetamine conversion lab inside a Fresno residence. Agents recovered over 60 pounds of methamphetamine from the house as well as materials used in the manufacturing and distribution of methamphetamine.
Sentencing is set for Aug. 29, 2016, before Chief United States District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill. Delgado faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Fresno Methamphetamine Task Force, the California Department of Justice, and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorneys Kathleen A. Servatius and Daniel J. Griffin are prosecuting the case.
