South Paris Man Sentenced to 21 Months for Illegally Possessing a Firearm

Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Andrew Bean, 51, of South Paris, Maine was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby to 21 months in prison and three years of supervised release for possessing a firearm after being convicted of four felony offenses. He pleaded guilty on April 26, 2016.

According to court records, on Nov. 21, 2015, a Maine Game Warden discovered Bean in possession of a 12-gauge shotgun in the Paris, Maine area. Bean was prohibited from possessing firearms based on prior felony convictions for Operating Under the Influence and for Operating after Revocation in 2002 and, again, in 2006.

The case was investigated by the Maine Warden Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
