MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Gregory Scott Rinker, 31, of Romney, West Virginia, pled guilty today to a federal firearms charge, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
In August 2015, Rinker knowingly possessed four stolen firearms in Mineral and Hampshire Counties, West Virginia. Moore pled guilty today to one count of “Possession of a Stolen Firearm." He faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the West Virginia State Police, and the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided.
