William Minson, 49 of Philadelphia was charged today by Indictment[1] with one count of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery, announced U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger. The indictment charges that Minson robbed the Hyperion Bank, located at 199 West Girard Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 19, 2016, and attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2300 Snyder Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Aug. 22, 2016.
If convicted, Minson faces a maximum sentence of 40 years' imprisonment, a $500,000 fine, three years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment.
This case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department. The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski.
