Donald S. Boyce, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that Andrew Autoomp, 28, of East St. Louis, was sentenced on Nov. 29, 2016 in United States District Court in East St. Louis to 46 months in federal prison for one count of conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine base (commonly referred to as crack cocaine) and two counts of distribution of cocaine base. Autoomp was also sentenced to three years of supervised release to follow the imprisonment and ordered to pay $300 in special assessment fees.
Facts revealed in open court during the change of plea and sentencing hearings established that during the course of the conspiracy, Autoomp distributed both cocaine and crack cocaine in East St. Louis, Illinois during 2015. After considering sentencing factors including Autoomp’s age and vital role in the conspiracy, the district court sentenced Autoomp to 46 months of imprisonment.
The case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Monica A. Stump.
