Bangor, Maine: Acting United States Attorney Richard W. Murphy announced that Luis Hernandez, 35, of Waterbury, Connecticut, pled guilty in U.S. District Court to distribution of heroin and cocaine base, commonly known as “crack."
According to court records, on Nov. 30, 2016, Hernandez distributed heroin and crack to an individual working with the law enforcement agents at a residence in Hermon, Maine.
The defendant faces up to 20 years in prison, a $1,000,000 fine, and at least three years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; and investigated and prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Strategy to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
