Rosebud Man Found Not Guilty of Assault and Child Abuse Charges

United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler announced that a Rosebud, South Dakota, man was acquitted of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon, Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Child Abuse as a result of a federal jury trial in Pierre, South Dakota, beginning on Aug. 22, 2017, and concluding on Aug. 23, 2017.

Dustin Witt, age 26, was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 15, 2017.

The charges stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred in June 2016, in Rosebud.

The investigation was conducted by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The U.S. Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
