Portland Man Sentenced to Five Years for Crack Trafficking

Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Halsey B. Frank announced that Salman Mohamed, 20, of Portland, Maine, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby to five years in prison and four years of supervised release for possessing with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as “crack." He pleaded guilty on Sept. 20, 2017.

Court records reveal that on May 31, 2017, the defendant possessed over 100 grams of crack. At that time, he was also on bail for a separate drug trafficking charge.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Portland Police Department.
