Omaha Woman Sentenced for Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Makayla Morrissey, 33, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on Jan. 29, 2020, to 15 months in prison by United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. There is no parole in the federal system. Following her release from prison, Morrissey will serve three years of supervised release. She will also forfeit $11,470.00 in U.S. currency.

Law enforcement officers did two controlled buys and executed searches on Morrissey’s residence and recovered more than 100 grams of heroin and $11,470 in U.S. currency. The defendant was involved with other individuals in buying and selling heroin.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.
