United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced that a Mission, South Dakota, man convicted of Third Degree Burglary was sentenced on Nov. 16, 2020, by Chief Judge Roberto A. Lange, U.S. District Court.
Debonair Donavan Wright, age 19, was sentenced to time served through Nov. 20, 2020, three years of supervised release, a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100, and restitution in the amount of $620.
Wright was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 13, 2019. He pled guilty on Aug. 31, 2020.
The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 10, 2019, in Todd County, South Dakota, Wright broke into and burglarized Mike’s Pawn Shop and stole multiple items of property valued over $1,000.
This case was investigated by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Elmore prosecuted the case.
Wright was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
