St. Clair Man Sentenced To 127 Months’ Imprisonment For Conspiring To Distribute Methamphetamine

SCRANTON- The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Angel Romeu, age 37, of St. Clair, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on Jan. 15, 2021 to 127 months’ imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release by United States District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani, for conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.

According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, between Oct. 1, 2015 and April 9, 2016, Romeu conspired to distribute over 1.5 kilograms but less than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine in Schuylkill County.

The matter was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)- Philadelphia Division, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Jenny P. Roberts prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. The Department of Justice reinvigorated PSN in 2017 as part of the Department’s renewed focus on targeting violent criminals, directing all U.S. Attorney’s Offices to work in partnership with federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement and the local community to develop effective, locally-based strategies to reduce violent crime.
