WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 28, 2011 - House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) today announced new staff in the Committee’s communications office:
* Jamie Hennigan will serve as Director of Outreach for the Full Committee. In this newly established role, Jamie will work to build, coordinate and communicate with coalitions, interested groups and individuals on issues under the Committee’s jurisdiction. Jamie has served as both legislative and communications staff for Rep. John Fleming (R-LA). He is from Louisiana and a graduate of George Washington University. Prior to working for Dr. Fleming, Jamie served in the press office for Vice President Dick Cheney.
* Crystal Feldman will serve as one of two Press Secretaries for the Full Committee, focusing on regional press throughout the country. Crystal is a native of North Carolina and a graduate of Georgetown University. She has a variety of experience working on numerous campaigns, most recently for the California Republican Party and Sue Lowden in Nevada. In 2008, Crystal worked for the RNC and the McCain-Palin Presidential Campaign.
* Mallory Micetich will serve as the Press Assistant for the Full Committee. Mallory graduated from James Madison University in 2009 with a B.A. in Print Journalism. Prior to coming to the Committee, she worked as a Staff Assistant for Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA).
Hennigan, Feldman and Micetich will join the existing communications staff:
* Jill Strait continues to serve as Communications Director for the Natural Resources Committee, overseeing all press and communications activity. Jill has been with the Committee since 2009.
* Spencer Pederson continues to serve as Press Secretary, focusing on national press and media opportunities. Spencer has been with the Committee since 2010.
* Neal Kirby has been promoted to Online Communications Manager, overseeing all social media operations, website development and blogger outreach. Neal has been with the Committee since 2009.
