Chairman Hastings Statement on October Jobs Report

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Natural Resources on Nov. 4, 2011. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 4, 2011 - House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (WA-04) released the following statement after the October jobs report was released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“The job numbers released today are hardly encouraging to the thousands and thousands of people still struggling to find work. While President Obama has been campaigning around the country, pushing a new so-called stimulus that will raise taxes on American families and small businesses, House Republicans have been busy passing job creation bills. Just last week, the House passed a Natural Resources bill that would create 3,000 good paying copper mining jobs in Arizona. In total the House has passed 22 bipartisan job creating bills that are waiting on the Democrat controlled Senate to take action. Natural Resources Republicans will continue to pass bills that create a job creating environment that responsibly utilizes America’s vast natural resources for economic growth."
