SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released a Finding of No Significant Impact and Environmental Assessment to provide partial funding for the San Jose Water Company’s construction and operation of three proposed recycled water pipelines located within Santa Clara County, California. The recycled water would be used for landscape irrigation, cooling towers, and toilets in commercial buildings.

Reclamation proposes to provide federal funds to share in the cost of the project through Section 1604 of the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and Facilities Act of 1992 (Title XVI of Public Law 102-575, as amended). Section 1604 authorizes federal cost-sharing in water reuse projects for up to 25 percent or $20 million of construction costs, whichever is lesser, if and when authorized by Congress.
