FRESNO, Calif. -The Bureau of Reclamation has released an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the proposed exchange between Contra Costa Water District, Alameda County Water District, and Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Zone 7.

As part of the exchange, Alameda County Water District and Zone 7 would each transfer up to

2,500 acre-feet (5,000 AF total) of State Water Project water to Contra Costa Water District that will have been exchanged with the California Department of Water Resources for their previously banked SWP water. A like amount of stored water in Los Vaqueros Reservoir would then be set aside for Alameda County Water District and Zone 7 for later use when needed.
