MEDIA ADVISORY: Lake Berryessa Boat Tour on April 21

NAPA, Calif. - In association with Napa Valley’s Arts in April celebration, the Bureau of Reclamation’s Central California Area Office is offering the media a

unique experience on beautiful Lake Berryessa.

Experience the sights and sounds of the lake’s hidden coves and recreation areas and enjoy photographing nesting bald eagles and osprey, maybe even

bobcats, deer, waterfowl and migratory birds, as you explore the lake on an open-air pontoon boat. Following the 3-hour excursion, participants will drive

to the Nichelini Family Winery for a relaxing lunch, tour, and wine tasting at Napa Valley’s oldest family-owned winery.

WHAT

:

Join staff from the Lake Berryessa Field Office and Forever Resorts’ Pleasure Cove Marina on a unique pontoon boat tour of the lake and its coves from 8-11

a.m.

SPACE RESTRICTIONS:

Space is limited to ten participants (first come, first served).

WHEN

:

Thursday, April 21, 2016, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.

WHERE

:

Board Forever Resorts’ pontoon boat at Capell Cove Boat Launch on Berryessa Knoxville Road at 8 a.m. Ample, free parking is available ( http://www.usbr.gov/mp/ccao/berryessa/maps/berryessa-map.pdf).

LUNCH:

Prior to boarding, order forms will be available for the Spanish Flat Country Store and Deli to pre-order lunch (sandwich, drink, fruit).

WINE TASTING

:

Following the boat excursion, participants will return to Capell Cove, pick up their lunches, and then drive to the Nichelini Family Winery, 2950 Sage

Canyon Road, St. Helena, CA, to enjoy lunch, a winery tour, and wine

tasting ending at 1 p.m.

COST:

Please be prepared to make separate payments for lunch of $15.00 (cash or check only to Spanish Flat Country Store and Deli) and $25.00 to

Nichelini Family Winery.
