Reclamation Releases Final Environmental Documents for the Proposed Additional Points of Delivery for Panoche Water District’s Non-Project Groundwater

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released the Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the approval of additional delivery points for up to 5,000 acre-feet (AF) of Panoche’s non-Project groundwater introduced into the Delta-Mendota Canal as part of the DMC Groundwater Pump-in Program. Reclamation will executed an exchange agreement and or Warren Act contract with requesting Central Valley Project contractors within the Delta Division and San Luis Unit.

The 5,000 AF is included in the estimated 10,000 AF provided in the existing 5-year Panoche Warren Act contract which is part of the cumulative total (50,000 AF per year) allowed under the DMC Groundwater Pump-in Program.
