Reclamation Proposes Salinity Loading Reduction With the Grand Valley Irrigation Company’s Phase 4 – 540 Canal Lining Project

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Bureau of Reclamation has released a draft environmental assessment on Grand Valley Irrigation Company’s Phase 4 - 540 Canal Lining Project located in Mesa County, Colorado. The project would line approximately 1.64 miles of open irrigation ditch with an impervious liner covered with shotcrete. The purpose of the project is to reduce salinity loading in the Colorado River Basin.

The draft environmental assessment is available online at www.usbr.gov/uc/envdocs/index.html or a copy can be requested by contacting Reclamation.
