SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation released today a Final Environmental Assessment/Initial Study and a Finding of No Significant Impact for Auburn Area Recreation and Park District’s Auburn Bike Park in Auburn, California. Reclamation studied impacts to the environment, community and surrounding areas and found the former Auburn Dam construction site is well-suited to bike park use.
In 2014, the Auburn Area Recreation District proposed a bike park on Reclamation lands at a former trailer pad used by the Federal Highway Administration outside the city limits of Auburn, California. Reclamation worked with the Auburn Area Recreation District to study the proposed project and meet all federal and state requirements. The Auburn Area Recreation District leads the construction efforts and next steps.
The Final EA/IS and FONSI were prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act and are available at https://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_project_details.php?Project_ID=22689.
