SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation issued environmental documents on the potential direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts to the affected environment associated with the Riparian Habitat Restoration project at Dos Rios Ranch. Under the Central Valley Project Improvement Act Habitat Restoration Program, Reclamation would provide $499,730 to River Partners, a non-profit conservation organization, to partially fund the restoration of 159 acres of riparian habitat at Dos Rios Ranch in Stanislaus County.
The project would enhance and restore native riparian habitats to benefit a variety of federally listed and other sensitive species, including the endangered riparian brush rabbit, riparian woodrat and least Bell’s vireo. More than 18,000 propagated plants would be planted to restore native riparian vegetation and three acres of elevated land would be established to provide refuge for wildlife from flood events.
