SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation’s California Great-Basin Region announced the selection of Melinda Jones as the Region’s Information Technology Program Manager. She will manage the Information Management and Technology Resources and Cyber Security Program, supporting region-wide computing and telecommunications services.
“Melinda has more than 27 years of experience in communications and information management, said Regional Director Ernest Conant. “Her previous service as a United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, Senior Cyberspace Operations Manager, leading a large and diverse work force encompassing multiple aspects of communications, computers, operations and maintenance, will further enhance our current organization’s capabilities."
Jones has extensive knowledge and experience in directing information technology’s disciplines
and ensuring they align with an organization's priorities and needs. This includes tangible resources like networking hardware, computers and people, as well as intangible resources like software and data management.
She joined Reclamation in 2012 as the Region’s Administrative Services Manager and has been responsible for the full range of administrative support functions. Specific program oversight includes Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, Property Management, Records Management, Space Planning, and Visual Information Services.
Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems Management from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Arts in Education from Touro University.
