FORT PIERRE, S.D.─ The Mni Wiconi Rural Water System repairs are complete, and all water restrictions have been lifted. Reclamation staff along with staff from the Oglala Sioux Core Rural Water System and West River Lyman Jones Rural Water System completed necessary repairs Wednesday, July 7.

“We are thankful to the public for their cooperation and patience during the repair process," said Dakotas Area Office Manager Joe Hall.

The Mni Wiconi Water Treatment Plant/Coreline provides water to the largest Native American/Tribal Water System in the United States, providing potable water to ten counties in South Dakota through the Oglala Sioux Rural Water Supply System. The service area includes a 12,500 square mile area, which is approximately one-sixth the total area of South Dakota.

For further questions about water service, users should contact their water service provider.
