Reclamation announces a 15-day public comment period for Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority operation, maintenance, and replacement contract

REDDING, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation and the Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority have come to mutual agreement on the renewal contract for the transfer of operation, maintenance, and replacement activities related to the Central Valley Project’s Tehama-Colusa Canal and the Corning Canal, Red Bluff, and Corning pumping plants, and associated works located in Northern California.

The Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority is a Joint Powers Authority and consists of 17 Central Valley Project water contractors. The service area spans four counties (Tehama, Glenn, Colusa, and Yolo) along the west side of the Sacramento Valley, providing operation, maintenance, and replacement of conveyance facilities. TCCA operates and maintains the 140-mile Tehama-Colusa Canal and Corning Canal water conveyance facilities. In 1996, Reclamation transferred responsibilities to the TCCA for operation and maintenance of Reclamation facilities for the benefit of member units under the terms of a 25-year agreement.
