WALNUT GROVE, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that the Delta Cross Channel gates will close for maintenance between August 30 and 31. The gates control the diversion channel near Walnut Grove, about 30 miles south of Sacramento. The gates are typically operated to manage water quality and allow fresh water from the Sacramento River channel to the interior Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.
