WASHINGTON - The Bureau of Reclamation announces the selection of Robert “Bob" Pike, P.E., as the senior advisor - design, estimating and construction oversight and dam safety officer in Denver, Colorado.
This position provides oversight of design, estimating and construction activities as they are being formulated and prepared to ensure that executive-level management decisions and products are sound at the project and corporate levels. Pike will also serve as Reclamation's dam safety officer where he will provide broad program guidance, conduct reviews and perform quality assurance of Reclamation's Dam Safety Program.
“The depth of knowledge Bob brings to this critical leadership position will be an invaluable asset as we support Reclamation’s mission," said Chris Beardsley, director of Policy and Programs. "His wealth of knowledge and wise counsel will ensure our dams do not present unreasonable risks to people, property, or the environment."
Pike joined Reclamation in 1982 and has served in several key positions, in multiple regions. Of note, he has held multiple positions within Reclamation including his roles as a civil engineer, hydraulic engineer, dam safety coordinator and program manager. Prior to this selection, Bob served as the chief of the Dam Safety Office in Denver, Colorado, since 2019.

Pike is a registered professional engineer in Colorado. He is a member of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, United States Society on Dams, and the Centre for Energy Advancement through Technology Innovation.
