Eastern Kentucky Flood Damage Photos Sought

The US Army Corp of Engineers is collecting photographs of damage caused by the recent flooding events in Eastern Kentucky. The crowdsourced photos will be used to record and better understand the levels of flooding experienced. The collection of the photos will also assist the USACE mission and enable future engineering studies.  To facilitate this effort, we have set up a collection portal utilizing the ESRI Survey123 application.

Individuals are asked to submit their photos* using the following link: https://arcg.is/14rCGT

*Please complete one survey for each location shown in the photos. If you have pictures showing three different locations, then you will complete three separate surveys.

Instructions for completing the survey:

  • Click on the link to open the survey and complete the following fields: https://arcg.is/14rCGT
    • Location of Photos: Place a point on the map indicating the location shown in your photo
    • Community Name: Enter the name of the community or town where the photos are located
    • Stream Name: Enter the name of the stream or creek located closest to the location of the photo
    • Photo: Upload from 1 to 10 photos of the same location on one survey
    • Photo Label: Enter a description of the uploaded photo. Tell us what the photo is showing.
    • Additional Comments: Enter any additional comments or useful information concerning the location or images depicted in the photos.
DISCLAIMER:  Please note that the submission of photos to the Survey 1-2-3 application will constitute consent for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and their partners to use and take ownership of said photograph(s).  The photos received may be utilized in current and future engineering studies, presentations, and related activities by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the State of Kentucky and other Federal and State agencies that may arise from this recent flooding event.  We thank you for your help, cooperation, and permission to use the submitted photographs.
